Therapy & Counseling
individual counseling
Another name for individual counseling is one-on-one therapy. This is the most common form of outpatient therapy. It means that a client will work with a licensed therapist over a certain amount of sessions until a goal is reached.
At Triumph, we believe that everyone can benefit from therapy and counseling, so even if you don’t have a specific goal in mind but want to have a listening ear of a caring, patient, non-judging professional. Some of the topics we cover in more goal directed counseling include:
Bullying
Loss/Grief
Depression
Suicidal thoughts
Poor Self-esteem
Blended family issues
Behavioral problems at home or school
Low or underachieving academic performance
group counseling
Group therapy is characterized by 5-8 individuals working together under the guidance of a trained therapist. Group therapy provides a platform for individuals to be able to reach their own personalized goals while taking the journey with individuals who have similar goals.
We feel that group counseling is especially beneficial for teens. Adolescents thrive on peer relationships. Group therapy at Triumph is designed to minimize pressure by first building rapport amongst members and the facilitator (therapist) . Our therapist will develop games, lessons, and activities for group participants to engage in to develop skills, teach information, and build community. Sessions typically run one time per week for 8 to 10 weeks. Based on initial individual consultation, a therapist will determine if an individual meets the requirements for group therapy. Now enrolling in these groups:
Black Boy Joy (Grades 6-12)
Covers depression, creating SMART goals, and increasing self-esteem.
Black Girls Talk (Age 11-14)
A platform for black girls to talk about life in general. Participants will engage in team building activities and be exposed to positive content with the intention to boost self esteem and encourage pride in blackness.
Introverts Welcome (Co-ed)
A social skills group. This group will help participants develop skills to make friends, be confident in themselves, while simultaneously letting participants know its okay to be introverted.

Workshops
We can meet with you for 3 shortened sessions and provide solution focused insight and information on specific topics. These sessions are curriculum based, meaning they are scripted and do not offer the same ability to dive into deep detail as individual counseling would. These workshops are perfect for someone interested in therapy but not ready for the commitment associated with individual counseling. Sessions are shorter and 3 sessions are equal to the price of 1 full therapy session. These sessions are not intended for individuals with a history, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, or delusions.
